Miss Claire Troth MMus BMus Hons

Claire began singing at her local church when she was 7 years old. After winning a number of local awards and bursaries she began singing with Eileen Field who coached her for a number of years before she gained a place to study opera at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. She graduated in 2000 and began to teach singing whilst still pursuing her solo career. In 2004 she began her Masters Degree at Trinity College of Music, London where she specialised in Early Music studying with Philip Thorby, Tim Travers-Brown and Sophie Grimmer. She won a full scholarship for her second year and was a finalist in the prestigious Gold Medal Competition at Trinity.

She has taught singing, piano and theory to many pupils since 2000 in various styles. Her pupils have gone onto study opera at Conservatoire, Musical Theatre Colleges such as the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Brits School, Arts Ed, and The Centre, and even straight to shows in the West End. She has also trained to be an ABRSM examiner and still sings regularly in the City of London Chamber Choir.

Claire also is the founder and Director of the highly successful "The Choir School" which runs choirs for all ages in the Bexley/Sidcup area.
