Beginners to Advanced
I have been a freelance and private music teacher for seven years, and welcome all abilities! Each lesson is catered to the individual needs of the student, so no matter what your goal I will work with your ambitions in mind. I work with both professional and beginner voices, and have aided students in preparing for and landing West End roles and commercial work, in auditioning for Am Dram societies and achieving principal roles in local productions, and in attaining A-Level and GCSE Music. I have further helped students prepare and record songs for special occasions and warmly welcomes students who simply wish to have fun and gain confidence in their own voice. A versatile singer with a past ranging from musical theatre to blues, I have an in depth understanding of individual genre technique and welcome various vocal styles.
WHAT CAN SINGING LESSONS GIVE YOU?
- Vocal and breathing technique to eliminate strain and make singing safe and comfortable
- Developed tone and pitch, to work on delivery and expanding range
- Performance technique, both for live and studio environments.
A multi-instrumentalist, I offer an in depth understanding of music theory. With a vast history in Drama, I have also taught dramatic technique, including workshops on monologues and audition methods.
Interested in accompanying yourself on guitar? After many of my students requesting, I now offer guitar lessons alongside vocal lessons to help you reach your performance goals! I also welcome students who wish to develop their songwriting.
ALTO SAXOPHONE LESSONS:
A Grade 8 Saxophonist, I welcome Alto Saxophone students and teach up to a Grade 8 standard.
NO PRESSURE, PLAY FOR PLEASURE:
I do not class myself as a 'grade teacher', much preferring to focus on developing good technique and playing for enjoyment. However, I am more than happy to accommodate those who wish to achieve grades.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
A past student of top vocal coaches and theatre schools, I have called the stage my home since the very tender age of 3. My experience is extensive and includes recording nationwide for Early Learning Centre, gaining interest from Virgin Records and Upscale Records L.A, playing both as a front woman in bands and as a singer/songwriter, and much more. I have also found myself scouted and shortlisted for the 2016 series of BBC's 'The Voice'. I hold a Grade 8 in Alto Jazz Saxophone and Popular Music Theory, a First Class BA Hons in Popular Music, and an in depth scientific knowledge of the voice, which I continue to expand upon.
I charge the competitive rate of £30 an hour, with shorter lessons for children and block booking options/discounts available. (Please see my private website for further details.)
LESSONS FOR CHILDREN:
I have a vast background in working with children, including as an Au Pair and Mentor. All I ask is that they attend with a love of music! I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, and am willing to teach children aged 6 and up.
Lessons are based at my home-studio in Rayleigh, where students have the ability to sing in confidence with professional soundproofing and equipment.
