David is a highly experienced cello pedagogue, teaching at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem, and at the Ingenium Academy - International Summer School for Music, as well as private tuition. He focuses on a thorough grounding of the technical aspects cello in order to facilitate musicality.

David also has a thorough understanding of performance psychology, in order to get the most out of performances and exams, as well as being aware of the importance of posture to prevent injury.

Although based in Scarborough, David is will to travel around the county in order to teach.

Originally from Scarborough, David Taylor has just finished teaching cello at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem. It was at the age of 18 that David made his concerto debut with the Scarborough Area Youth Symphony Orchestra with Saint Saens's cello concerto no 1. He also received a commendation for his performance of the middle movement in the Harrogate Music Festival Concerto Class the same year. Recently he has been performing recitals at the Yabous Cultural Centre in Jerusalem and at Bethlehem University as part of the Bethlehem Concert Series.
David completed his studies Birmingham Conservatoire under the tuition of Catherine Ardagh-Walter of the CBSO and has been involved with masterclasses with cellists including Lionel Handy, John Todd and Helen Edgar as well as receiving guidance from the conductor Simon Wright. He has become a passionate pedagogue, with teaching engagements including the prestigious Ingenium Academy – International Summer School for Music, and upcoming tour of the Palestinian Youth Orchestra.
Another of David’s main passions is orchestral playing. He has toured in France, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and Romania with the European Vacation Chamber Orchestra as Co-Principal, including performances on French and Romanian Television, as well as a live performance on Radio 3 with the CBSO Youth Orchestra and playing with Myleene Klass at the Royal Television Awards.
