I am an award winning guitarist who loves performing and teaching this instrument.

I perform, teach and compose on the classical, steel string, ukulele and electric guitars, and my main motto is that no matter what skill level you are at or whether you want to make the listener think, dance or cry, every note that you play must have its purpose. Making sure that you know why you are playing what you are playing empowers you to perform at your best, regardless of the complexity and genre.

I was born in Brazil but raised in London and as Brazilís relationship with the guitar is multi-faceted so is mine. I studied Classical Guitar with Londonís top tutors, Graham Devine and Charles Ramirez, sessionned on electric guitar for the likes of La Roux and Simply Red (to name a few) and performed my award winning acoustic guitar pieces live on BBC Radio 2 during their Guitar Season.

I can teach many styles, such as classical, rock, pop, blues, jazz and latin.

I have been teaching for over 5 years now but in the last 2 years I have been working with different educational organisations, such as the Institute of Education and The Challenge and have become passionate about working in education.

In the past year I have been teaching guitar at East London Arts and Music (ELAM) an industry college which aims to prepare students for the music industry. Founded by one half of Chase and Status and the governors behind The BRIT School, it has very good facilities, but also importantly it requires the staff to be at the highest level.

As I have worked in various different genres I bring an extensive knowledge of guitar techniques, (fingerpicking, classical, using a pic) as well as an extended knowledge of guitar pedals (including loops) and recording technologies which is becoming more and more relevant to music today. I have a thorough knowledge of ABRSM and Trinity syllabus as well as music theory and am able to teach in two languages (Portuguese and English).

As a professional musician I work creating film soundtracks, theatre compositions, sessionning for recording artists and performing in many top venues. Notable performances include; Royal Festival Hall (with an orchestra), Barbican (with an orchestra), BBC Radio 2 (solo), Glastonbury Festival (with bands), Ronnie Scotts (with band), Roundhouse (with bands) and also concerts in France, Poland and Brazil.

I am DBS certified (formerly known as CRB Check).

I can travel to students (for a small extra fee) or teach from spaces in Hither Green or Camberwell.

So if you are a beginner or intermediate player, please get in contact for us to have a lesson!
