Miss Laura Innes

I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in July 2014, focussing on viola performance. I have taught violin, viola and music theory privately for 8 years, and completed work placements with the RNCM Young Strings and One Education Music. Whilst at the RNCM I won several chamber music awards with the Torelli string quartet, and performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. I also work as a tutor with The Tutor Trust, an educational charity that provides further support for primary and secondary age pupils in English, Science and Maths. In my private music teaching I have worked with all ages from young children to adults, whether beginners or already accomplished. Previously I have worked for Hampshire Music Service, with one of their many ensembles, and as part of the pastoral team for a national choir residential course.

I am based in Hulme, or can travel to teach in a pupil's home if needed. I am happy to take pupils through graded exams if they should wish, including support with aural tests and theory work. I can offer small group lessons if there is sufficient demand, at a reduced fee per pupil. Learning an instrument should be enjoyable and creative, with the flexibility to adapt to each student's needs and preferred style.
