Instruments: 'Cello

Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I am a music student at Cardiff University having recently changed my my principal study from piano to cello as I enter my second year. I am able to teach both piano and cello and have been teaching piano for the last 2 years, having successfully entered pupils for Associated Board exams. I am currently working towards a DipABRSM in Piano Performance while also undertaking my studies as a principal study cellist at university.

I have been playing the piano for over 11 years but started having cello lessons much later while in secondary school at the time of my GCSEs. I took to the cello extremely quickly and having learnt much later, appreciate what it is like to learn a new instrument. I later gained a place in the English Schools' Orchestra while also leading the cello section at my local youth orchestra in Potters Bar and the PB Senior Strings.

I have classroom experience teaching teenagers in a mainstream secondary school in Hertfordshire and assisting the Head of Music with the running of ensembles. I have also mentored the Potters Bar Junior Strings, a string orchestra of 50 children, while also playing the piano in their concerts.
