Biography

Jake is a versatile actor-musician who is training at the Guildford School of Acting and has a BA in Music from Southampton University. He is a tenor singer (classical, musical theatre and contemporary), pianist and guitarist. Jake was a choral scholar with Cantores Michaelis and has sung with professional choirs Blossom Street and The Mozart Festival Chorus.

Whilst training at GSA, Jake most recently played Judge Brack in Hedda Gabler and Khlestakov in The Government Inspector. He also works with TIE company Theatre Exchange and Tadworth based theatre school, Stage Kings.

In musicals Jake has worked with composer Andrew Fisher in cast recordings and workshop performances of Billy Bow (Nuffield Theatre, Southampton) and The Weird World of William Willow (Clapham Omnibus Theatre) both directed by Russ Tunney.

In concert his professional engagements include soloist work for Witt Studio's 'Beyond The Mask', Handel's Messiah with Southampton Music Dept and a world premiere of Michael Finnissy's completion of Mozart's Requiem.

Jake has been teaching privately and for other organisations for several years. He currently works at Chinthurst school as choirmaster and music teacher. He has also taught at Discovery New School as a music/drama specialist producing Christmas and Easter school plays and was appointed head guitar instructor at Camp Arowhon (Ontario, Canada) for their 2008 summer season.

Jake has taken additional training short courses with LAMDA, Act Up, Abingdon, Barefoot Opera and Body Opera.
