BA (Music) - Cambridge University
Diploma in Orchestral Studies - NCOS
Instruments: Viola
Genre/Style(s): classical
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

After studying music at Cambridge and completing an intensive post-graduate course at the National Centre for Orchestral Studies (Goldsmith's College), I went on to play the viola professionally in Sicily and then for three years with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

I then gave up full-time playing and moved to Edinburgh where I have led the violas in Scottish Sinfonia for many years. During this time I have also successfully taught viola, violin and piano. I am equally happy teaching children and adults. I put a lot of attention into getting the basics right, as I believe that this is the only way in which people can really gain lasting satisfaction and enjoyment from playing. I am happy to teach Viola to college entrance level, Violin to Grade 8 and Piano to Grade 6.
