As a young motivating piano teacher and an enthusiastic musician, I am quick to build a rapport with people, and both parents and pupils have thanked me on many occasions for my great patience and for consistently making lessons lively, engaging and inspiring. I divide my working time between composing, piano playing in restaurants/functions & occasional recitals, and teaching.

I have spent 10 years teaching privately, and in schools and tutorial colleges. All my students have had success in Abrsm exams, the majority achieving a distinction or merit. My teaching includes classical, jazz & blues, improvisation and theory. If required I am able to teach the Tobin Music education system which is in my experience a very effective way of teaching music at beginner to intermediate level.

I aim to make lessons fun and lively, and at the same time being thorough and maintaining attention to detail. Students have commented that they feel most at ease in my lessons. I don't pressure students into taking exams if they don't wish to, but I do encourage all to learn and finish a variety of different pieces at a similar level before moving on to more difficult pieces. Occasionally I will organise a pupils concert and I will give all the opportunity to perform at festivals & competitions.
