Biography

Claire teaches Violin, Viola and Chamber music at Highgate Junior and Senior schools and also coaches at Pro Corda, which provides excellent ensemble training. She has previously worked at the Junior Royal Academy of Music where she still visits to teach Viola, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic's 'In Harmony' Project at West Everton Primary school, which was inspired by Venezuela's El Sistema method.

When not teaching, she regularly plays with a number of Orchestras across the UK which include the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra- amongst many others.

Claire relishes the opportunity to perform chamber music, having performed with the London Sinfonietta, The Nash Ensemble, the Brodsky Quartet and more recently- Synchrony. A former member of the 'Vuillaume Quartet', the group won the Elias Fawcett Prize, were Very Highly Commended in the Wolfe Wolfinsohn Prize, and performed in concerts across the UK and Ireland.

Her awards include the ABRSM Scholarship and the Sir John Barbirolli Prize for Post Graduate Study at the Royal Academy of Music, and recieved generous support from the Stephen Bell Charitable Trust, The Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the Craxton Memorial fund, recipient of a Musicians Benevolent Fund Postgraduate Performance Award, and first place in RNCM's Cecil Aronowitz Viola Prize.
