Instruments: Bass Guitar

Music Theory
Genre/Style(s): All styles

I have worked professionally in a diverse range of genres including Jazz, Pop/Rock and Musical Theatre
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

In my lessons we can look at anything from technical exercises, improvisation to theory, aural skills, transcription, grooving, sight reading or grade exams. We can study jazz standard charts, popular bass lines, walking bass, etc. learned from notation or by ear.

The lessons will be focused on becoming a useful and musical player who has a strong sense of time and can apply skills to a variety of situations. I will also advise on how to maintain equipment and about purchases of new instruments, amplifiers or accessories. We can also touch on confidence and issues related to stage fright if desired.

I am a Musician's Union member, insured for public liability and have an up to date DBS check. I endorse Sandberg bass guitars.

I am a professionally practising bass player rather than a guitarist who plays bass. It is always better that you get a specialised bass teacher who knows the subtleties of the instrument, particularly if you are a more advanced student.
