Notes:

As an experienced drum/percussion tutor I have always enjoyed teaching. My aim is to pass on my experiences from not only the many years of working in the field but also many years as a performer.

Whether teaching is required from my music studio or online I always hope to provide a fun and relaxed environment to ensure the highest possible standards are met. Whatever your age, you will receive your first lesson free of charge. We shall discuss what you wish to get out of your drumming. This could include working towards an exam (Trinity College London, Rock School, ABRSM & Rock & Pop offered), support in gaining experience from drumming in a band, improving reading skills, learning a part for a school wind band or chamber group on percussion, learning a set of songs by ear; whatever it may be I hope to provide what’s required for you. Throughout your lessons we shall set regular targets together, aim to keep the lessons fun and varied by using backing tracks and/or playing duets and introducing new ideas and concepts to achieve a higher level of playing.

Throughout my teaching career I have not only taught on a private one to one basis but also in private and state schools. This has included taking group lessons, conducting various ensembles, adjudicating competitions, preparing pupils for exams from initial level to grade eight and beyond.

As a freelance musician I have also worked with many groups and ensembles including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Orchestra of the Swan and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

I am a member of the Musicians Union.
