Instruments: Double Bass
Electric Bass
Genre/Style(s): Jazz
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

As everyone is individual, my lessons are tailored to the needs of each student. I feel that lessons should be a relaxed and enjoyable process about making music!

I have a wealth of performance, television and recording experience. My performance highlights to date are the Barbican, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Later...With Jools Holland (BBC), Ronnie Scott's and Pizza Express Dean Street. I have also performed at major festivals around the world including Rochester International Jazz Festival (New York), Montreal Jazz Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, St. Lucia Jazz Festival, Elbjazz Festival (Hamburg) and Middelheim Festival (Belgium).

My recording career includes two albums with MOBO winning artist, Zara McFarlane as well as Partikel, Peter Edwards, Duncan Eagles, Sam Eagles and Leo Appleyard as well as releasing my own album, 'Orbital'.

I studied privately with Michael Janisch (Kenny Garrett, Joe Lovano) for a number of years and I have also studied with Peter Buckoke (Double Bass Professor at Royal College of Music), Jasper Hoiby (Phronesis) and Steve Watts (Double Bass Professor at Trinity Laban).

I specialise in Jazz but I am happy to teach all genres. I teach all ages and levels, from complete beginners to more advanced pupils who are looking to take their bass playing and/or musicianship further.
