Mr Oscar Habas

Oscar teaches Guitar, Keyboard and Music Theory. He has been recording and playing professionally in the UK and Europe for a number of years. Oscar holds a BA (Hons) in Music Performance, a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), NSPCC trained and is a member of the Musicians’ Union.

He works with a wide range of students from all ages and abilities, and has the expertise to design your lessons in a fun and practical way in order to bring the best out of your playing.

Oscar also has an interest in Psychology and Performance Coaching, so he could show you a thing or two about how to practice effectively, preparing for a live performance or managing your stage fright.

Whether you would like to learn how to play songs, read music or analyse the harmony behind the songs you write or play, he is available to help you from his home studio in Hove (very close to Seven Dials) or travel to you.

Oscar currently shares his time playing guitar in function and tribute bands around the country, teaching music in his home studio and local institutions, as well as playing intimate shows as a session guitarist for local singers and songwriters.

While at university (BA Hons in Music Performance) he had the chance to meet and work with a variety of experienced musicians, where he learnt the building blocks of music theory and harmony that gave him the chance to collaborate in musicals such as: Spring Awakening, We Will Rock You (Queen) and Our House (Madness). It was then where he gained teaching experience by helping others to improve their guitar playing and general musicianship. This eventually led him to study a PGCE (teaching qualification) as well as the London College of Music examinations for both electric guitar and music theory.
