Biography

Welsh musician Christopher Bowman is a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music, studying trumpet performance with Kate Moore, Jason Evans, Mark Calder and Dave Elton. He started playing the trumpet at the age of 8 and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales for seven years, during which time he has performed in many prestigious venues in the UK and abroad, including St. Davidís Hall in Cardiff, the Sage in Gateshead and das Konzerthaus, Berlin. He has worked under the baton of many renowned conductors such as Carlo Rizzi, Jac van Steyn, Martyn Brabbins and Raphael Payare. Christopher studied at the Purcell School of Music where his teacher was Tony Cross. During his time at the school, he performed in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall and played as part of a brass quintet in the Wigmore Hall, London. Christopher went on to complete his Bachelor of Music at the University of Manchester, where his teacher was Jamie Prophet. Christopher is a Ray Davies Award Holder.
