Completed Educare child protection training course. (more)
Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

- Teaching -

Having studied at City, University of London, Bertram graduated in 2013 with a BMus (Hons) degree specialising in Jazz Drum Kit Performance. He received instrument lessons through The Guildhall School of Music & Drama and has since been working in the UK music industry as a Teacher, Performer and Writer.

Bertram has performed in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, St Davidís Hall and The Indigo2 performing for high-profile events such as The BAFTAs and The Lord Mayorís Show. He currently operates within a busy gigging schedule performing all over the UK whilst teaching from a personal London recording studio.

Drum tuition is a strong passion of Bertramís. His teaching style can be tailored to suit absolute beginners right through to advanced students. Whether it be teaching through the grades or a hobby, Bertramís enthusiasm and dedication to music has encouraged many students to develop their playing and discover a love for the Drums.

- The Lesson -

Lessons can be tailored to suit any ability. I always aim to deliver an engaging lesson a cater to the needs of the student, whether that be learning your favourite song or improving your technique. The lesson will also be taught with the addition of books, videos and play-alongs to assist the student. These resources can then be taken away to study between lessons so you have a more consistent learning experience.

If you are a complete beginner, our first lesson will involve the basic stick technique and posture behind the kit. I can also advise on how to set up your own drum kit at home as well as more advanced knowledge for choices on Kits, Cymbals and Drum skins. I have a wealth of experience in both Trinity and Rockschool grading syllabuses. During each lesson I will be able to help assess your progress and together we can plan the direction you would like your lessons to go in. Between lessons I can design and arrange a personal series of lessons to help you achieve your playing goals.

- The Studio -

My personal studio is equipped with high quality drum kit. To make your learning experience easier this kit will be set up for you to sit on straight at the start of your lesson. This eliminates any wasted time assembling a kit from scratch every time. The studio can be easily reached by public transport with close links to Pinner station and many local buses.
