Biography

I am a professional freelance Trombone player and Brass teacher originally from Cork City in Ireland where I began learning trombone with Liam Nolan and Tony Neal at the Cork School of Music.
I went on to get my degree from the Royal College of Music in London studying with Mike Hext and Richard Edwards and a Post grad. Diploma from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying with Eric Crees and Simon Wills, I was also an Archers Scholar at Trinity College of Music performing for the Trinity Big Band under Bobby Lamb and returned to the CSM in to get an MMus. I have attended masterclasses and received tuition from numerous other players including Christian Lindbergh, Don Lusher and many more

I have been a Brass Tutor for Lewisham Music Service, Kelvin Grove Primary School Supersonics music club and a private teacher in Lewisham for the past 6 years. Prior to that I taught Brass instruments in Primary and Secondary schools in the boroughs of Greenwich, Newham and Kensington and Chelsea. I have also presented and taken part in educational workshops for the Royal Opera House, London Symphony Orchestra, West Cork Music and more.

As a player I have been fortunate to perform all over the world playing all styles of music with numerous different artists, groups and ensembles including Blur, Liam Gallagher, Florence and the Machine, The National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Irish Brass Ensemble, London Jazz Orchestra, London City Big Band, New Irish Jazz Ensemble and much more

I also run my own professional jazz big band which performs at the Fox and Firkin on Lewisham High Street on the first Sunday of every month
