Tamara Young has performed live on BBC Radio 3ís ĎIn Tuneí as their visiting solo artist alongside members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and has won numerous accolades such as first prize at the Camac Harp Competition, London, The John Marson harp prize for most outstanding and creative musician and was a finalist in the Royal Over Seas League music competition.

Tamara freelances with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Ballet Sinfonia, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Opera North, The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian National Opera House Orchestra, Oslo, amongst others. She has worked with conductors such as Valerie Gergiev, George Benjamin, Francois Xavier Roth, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Steuart Bedford, John Adams, Sir Colin Davis and has recently been playing principal harp with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden on their most recent tour to Japan under Antonio Pappano. Whilst still a student Tamara was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra having won the audition two years in a row as principal harpist performing in the BBC Proms and was a Britten Pears Young artist for 2013 performing Peter Grimes in Aldeburgh, which was subsequently broadcast in Cinemas world wild

Other Collaborations have included performing at Regentís Park Open Air Theatre, Ronnie Scottís Jazz Club with Sir John Dankworth and live on ITVís Daybreak. Tamara is a Concordia Artist, and will be performing in projects and performances in 2017 and has been a Selected Artist for Making Music's Concert Promoter's Group with her flute and harp duo Syrinx with flautist Holly Cook.
Recent solo recitals include Cheltenham Town Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and further afield in Paris, Israel and Munich. As a soloist she has performed Mozartís Concerto for Flute and Harp, Debussyís Danses and most recently Ravelís Introduction and Allegro live on Radio 3 from Snape Maltings with members of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

Born in Kent, Tamara graduated with a first class honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying with Gabriella DallíOlio where she also completed her Masterís degree. She has recently graduated from the Hochschule für Music und Theater, Munich where she completed her Zertifikattsstudium Miesterklasse under Professor Cristina Bianchi.
