Currently, I teach privately in my home and at a school in Warwickshire I am happy to teach flute and piccolo to students of any age and ability. As a student graduating from Birmingham Conservatoire, I received excellent training in pedagogy, and working in community settings with students and audiences of all ages. I specialised in community engagement, and therefore have training for working with students of all ages and abilities. From a young age, I have been in charge of setting up various flute ensembles with groups of school children which has given me excellent leadership and communication skills.

No two students learn the same, and I plan my lessons around the individual student. I aim to make lessons fun and well rounded, including aural tests, sight-reading, scales, music theory and musical exercises to help improve all aspects of musicianship. I also teach either the ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall syllabus for graded examinations, depending on what the student is most comfortable with.

I am passionate about passing on my enthusiasm for music, and this is the main aspect I try to get across in my teaching. I encourage students to tell me what music they enjoy and always incorporate this into lessons to ensure that my students maintain their enthusiasm for the flute and music.
