Although my name would make you an absolute winner at “Musician Scrabble”, you don’t have to worry about pronouncing it - I am known to my students and in musical circles just as “Tolly”.

I teach the saxophone and only the saxophone, an instrument that I have been passionate about playing and teaching for more than 30 years. My aim is for you to get as much pleasure and satisfaction from playing as I do, and to achieve this, my technique is to build my lessons around the needs of the individual player and their own personal aims and aspirations. One constant that I do insist on though is that my lessons are enjoyable and as much fun as possible!

My student base ranges from children to adults and from absolute beginners to the top grade and beyond! Many of my students play for personal enjoyment and satisfaction, whilst others have achieved great success in Associated Board Saxophone syllabus and the Trinity Jazz syllabus.

Style-wise, I cover many genres including jazz, blues, pop and classical. No style is exempt though and again, I let my students lead the way and my lessons challenge and stretch them in whichever direction they want to go!

So that’s it! No matter what your age or ability, whether you want to work towards an academic qualification or play for your own enjoyment, take a break from your usual routine and learn something fun and new! Everyone can learn the sax!
