Miss Sophy Yeoman

I started learning violin at the age of 4 and achieved a Grade 8 distinction at the age of 17. The following year, I achieved a Grade 8 distinction in classical singing. In conjunction with my violin playing, I took up playing the viola and achieved a Grade 7 distinction at the age of 16. I was a member of the National Children's Orchestra from the age of 8 until 14, playing in the UK and in Europe. In addition to this, I played with the Buckinghamshire County Youth Orchestra and the Chiltern Youth Chamber Orchestra for many years.

I am passionate about teaching and learning, having spent two years completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Theory at the University of Nottingham. I bring a fresh, fun approach to music learning and aim to make every lesson as enjoyable as possible. I use a variety of learning techniques and teaching aids to ensure that the student feels confident in their musical knowledge.

I have experience teaching children from 5 years to 18 years as well as adults and can provide references upon request.
