Notes:

I started leaning to play the piano at 5 years old. At 11years old I became a Junior Exhibitioner at the Royal College of music, and started to learn the clarinet at the age of around 14years old. I was taught there by Colin Bradbury, who became the youngest principal clarinettist to be appointed in the BBC Symphony orchestra.
On becoming a full time student at RCM I studied piano with
David Parkhouse, and clarinet with Thea King, and had been awarded a County Music award.
I formed a wind quartet at RCM and started to give concerts etc.
On leaving RCM I continued performing, but also worked in the music department of the BBC.
On marrying and starting a family, I embarked on a very fulfilling teaching career, which I have enjoyed for many years.
My main source of employment was as a peripatetic teach in Oxford city, at such schools as Dragon School and Oxford High School and for about 10 years. also taught at Arts Educational School in Tring.
I now am enjoying teaching from home and wish to build up a few more pupils, on both the clarinet and piano.
I am experienced in teaching both children from the age of 7 to retired adults.
I am able to teach Theory up to grade 8
I am also an examiner for ABRSM and have been since about 1986-travelling all over the World.
Another string to my bow is as a music adjudicator for the British and International Federation of festivals for Music, Dance and Speech, which I thoroughly enjoy. It is a joy and a privilege listening to all ages and styles of music and being able to communicate with the performers.
During my musical life I also helped to form and run a professional chamber orchestra which gave concerts in UK and in Europe.
I have always, during my teaching career, prepared my pupils for ABRSM exam from grade 1-grade 8 on both the piano and clarinet. But it is by no means a necessity for pupils to take exams. Learning to play and instrument for personal enjoyment and fulfilment is the most important aspect. My clarinet pupils enjoy playing in local (Witney and Oxford) amateur wind groups and orchestras.
I also have 2 pupils who have special needs of one sort or another.
