Notes:
Hi! I’m Keren, a singing and piano tutor based in Sheffield. I’ve been playing music for as long as I can remember, and won a number of scholarships through my studies. Later, I trained in both singing and piano at the Royal College of Music, graduating from the Junior department in 2011, followed by attaining a degree in music from The University of Sheffield in 2015.
Since leaving university, I have taught singing and piano to students of a wide range of ages and abilities. I try to take a rounded approach to teaching by getting students to explore music that they enjoy playing, whilst also getting a decent grounding in technique and music theory and, most importantly, developing a life-long love for music. My students are constantly encouraged to explore their creativity and develop their own musicality. Just as every student is a unique individual, so every lesson is uniquely planned around that individual.
I teach from my home in the Greystones area of Sheffield. The teaching room itself is an upstairs studio where my piano is located; parents are free to make themselves comfortable in the living room if they choose. Alternatively, there are plenty of cafes and places to sit in the surrounding town.
I have taught students who are aiming for exam boards, those who want to make a career out of music and those who study for the joy of it. If students want to aim for qualifications, then we can absolutely explore that route; if they’d rather just develop in their own direction then I’m more than happy to build lessons around that as well.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line. My timetable is flexible and I can accommodate to your schedule as required.
