Nick is a musician based in Leeds, with close to a decade of experience in the industry, ranging from jazz, pop and soul, to rock, electronic and dance music. Principally a saxophonist, he has performed with bands such as KOYO, Jenova Collective and NYJO at concerts, gigs and festivals across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, including performances at Download Festival, Reading Festival, The Royal Albert Hall and Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club.
In addition to original music projects, Nick has many years of experience playing solo, alongside DJ’s, and with live bands, at functions, private parties, weddings, clubs and corporate events across the UK, with customers including Autotrader, Yorkshire Water and Alex Brooker.
With a strong upbringing in jazz, Nick graduated with honours from the prestigious jazz degree course at Leeds College of Music, before branching out into more adventurous and creative genres for a saxophone to fit into, as well as finding a strong role for education in his repertoire of musicianship.
Nick took to the booming Sax & DJ club scene effortlessly, and has built a strong reputation as one of the leading club sax players in the country. He regularly plays in many of the UK’s leading clubs and bars, such as, Tiger Tiger, Dirty Martini, Viper Rooms and Revolution, as well as private events, functions and parties.
Nick is a very devoted and inspiring educator, focusing on each students needs and abilities individually. Whilst focusing heavily on instrumental technique and harmonic and theoretical knowledge, his teaching syllabus also involves a lot of essential information about how to become successful in the music industry, involving subjects such as self promotion, equipment and music marketing.
