Mr Daniel Ephgrave

In 2017 I joined the Kidderminster Festival Orchestra on their young graduate programme and am now sub-principal flute, playing alongside leading professionals and soloists in the Midlands. I have also played flute and piccolo with CBSO Youth Orchestra, St Albans Symphony Orchestra, Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra, on a side-by-side scheme with the Philharmonia, Hertfordshire Wind Sinfonia and County Youth Orchestra. I regularly work as an accompanist, teacher, musical director and freelance musician in musical theatre, having played for the National Youth Music Theatre's production of West Side Story in 2013 and countless other productions since.

As well as performing, teaching is something which I find incredibly rewarding. I currently teach flute at a secondary school in London, run a choir at a local dance school, accompany at a school and teach at various musical theatre companies. Both through my peripatetic teaching and working with youth groups, I have enjoyed working with children of varying ages and abilities, helping them to improve their performances. It is great as a teacher to see the development of students and to see the pride in themselves once their goals have been achieved.
