Alex Lloyd has been teaching saxophone for 5 years (from the age of 18) both privately and in schools. He has in this time developed a unique and supportive teaching strategy designed for the specific student in mind. Alex can travel to the home of the student or if space is an issue, then a different location can be found at an additional cost to the student.

As a professional saxophonist and having played for nearly 13 years, Alex has worked with a number of major names across a variety of different styles. From performing with legendary British Jazz composer Mike Westbrook to recording with members of the legendary Motown studio band the Funk Brothers, Alex has consistently developed his music and understanding. Alex has also played in many shows including 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Grease' and various pantomimes as well as shadowing (sitting-in') in West End shows such as 'Jersey Boys', 'Matilda' and 'BIG'.

As an arranger, Alex has written arrangements for a host of different scenarios. From professional function bands and live acts right through to school jazz bands and orchestras - arranging to suit the musicians. He has also been fortunate to shadow and work alongside former Motown and Soul Music arrangers when they have worked in the UK as well as a host of arrangers and orchestrators in the London theatre and film industry.

For peace of mind Alex also has a full DBS (formerly CRB) check!
