"OK Matt is a really good guitar player. Period. He has real in depth knowledge of music theory and how everything "goes together" The reasons why I stay with Matt and wholeheartedly recommend him are: (i) he helps you learn (so he teaches rather than just demos) and to apply that learning to whatever your objectives/aspirations are. (ii) he is quite a hard taskmaster at times ...which for me is good as I do need to maintain focus (iii) he can observe/hear technique in real detail and help to get it right (iv) he is also keen to improve (brilliant as he is) so that gives you confidence that you can improve... and that he is after all only human (v) lessons after 6pm work for me (vi) a really nice guy"

"Matt is a great teacher that tailors his approach and lessons to the individual student to maximise the learning experience. His lessons are always fun, varied and very productive. Really enjoy that you can pick songs you like and practice these instead of following a set teaching schedule. "

"Matt has been teaching my son the guitar for about a year now. My son has learnt so much in this time, with both music theory and practical skills. He thoroughly enjoys his lessons and looks forward to them each week. I think that my son has progressed quite quickly for his age (currently 6 years old) and that's clearly due to Matt's skilled tutoring. Matt will also teach to your specification - for my son I just wanted him to develop a passion for music and a natural skill in what interests him. On the other hand, if you are looking to do structured lessons aimed towards the grading system then he has the skill set to facilitate this avenue too. In all Matt is a great teacher who has the ability to bring out the inner musician in his students whilst making learning fun and enjoyable."
