Based in London, Jessica Summers (B.Mus.Hons, Kingís College, London) has run a successful singing teaching practice for adults and children in Cambridge since 2006, working with a wide variety of people and teaching a range of musical and vocal styles. She teaches singing at The Perse School (Senior) and at St Catharine's College, University of Cambridge. She also runs young choirs at the Centre for Young Musicians in Peterborough (PCYM), a division of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She has considerable experience in music education and community music both as a singing teacher and a vocal animateur. She has worked with people of all ages and abilities in both a workshop and one to one setting and has run projects for leading national opera companies, orchestras, music services and disability and mental health organisations. She was also a vocal workshop leader for the TrinityGuildhall/Open University CPD KS2 Music programme.
Jessica is a trained classical soprano and has a wide range of performing experience both on stage (Royal Opera, English Touring Opera) and on the concert platform (St Johnís Smith Square, National Portrait Gallery, Aldeburgh, Brighton, Exeter, Kings Lynn, Newbury, York Festivals). She also has a great deal of experience in performing twentieth century and new music.
