Heather Scott-Smith is a singing teacher based in Edinburgh. She teaches a wide variety of styles and specialises in modern music such as jazz, pop, and musical theatre.

Her vocal tuition business has grown largely through word of mouth and due to recommendations from students.
Heather Scott-Smith is a professional singer, songwriter, and has a BA Honours in Music and English. She studied vocal performance and piano at university level and specialised in Jazz singing. She has been teaching privately for over 10 years and even taught other university music students vocal technique while she was an undergraduate.
Heather has a vast experience in live performance and has also had lots of recording experience. She has performed in prestigious London Jazz Venues such as Pizza on the Park., Knightsbridge. She has also perfomed as a soloist for several Southampton Gospel Choirs, and has gigged extensively in Edinburgh venues and at the Edinburgh festival. She writes and records her own music. She is currently working on recording her Debut album.
Heather has an understanding of classical technique, and uses her singing and performing experience to help inform her lessons. She focuses on the key elements of technically brilliant singing, such as breathing, posture, mouth shape and diction amongst others.
She has experience and training in singing classical music, as well as modern styles.
She has full disclosure to work with both children and adults and is a member of the PVG scheme.

She tailors her lessons to suit each individual student and listens to each student's aspirations in singing. This informs her lessons and her approach to each individual student.Heather always gives each prospective student an initial consutation where she identifies any issues or technical problems in singing and discovers what makes each individual student tick, musically speaking.
Currently, her students are learning styles as diverse as country, folk, classical, religious, R+B, musical theatre styles and pop.

At the end of each lesson, each student is sent a review of the session by e-mail including key points for practice. Her lessons are structured, and well thought out.
Heather tries to keep her lessons reasonably priced, in order to give every person the opportunity to develop in the gift of singing.
