HND Music
BA Applied Music
Instruments: Cello
Genre/Style(s): Classical
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I am a graduate of the BA Applied Music degree at the University of the Highlands and Islands, where I majored in Composition under Mark Sheridan. I am currently continuing my studies at UHI, where I am working towards my MA in Music and the Environment.

As a Cellist, I have over a decade experience in Orchestral, Chamber and Solo performance. In my 1-to-1 Cello lessons, I offer technical and practical knowledge, including the aural and theoretical skills necessary to enhance my pupils knowledge of the instrument and a wider musical understanding. Lessons can be tailored around the individual student, whether they have a desire to work towards their grades, such as SQA, Trinity or College and University exams, or simply for their own enjoyment.

As a Composer, I have extensive experience, composing Orchestral, Ensemble, and Solo work which has been performed and recorded. Through my relaxed 1-to-1 Composition and Theory lessons, I aim to explore the possibilities of music with students who are complete beginners to those who are more advanced. My own Compositional education with composers such as Mark Sheridan and Paul Tierney has provided me with the tools to go beyond the basic theoretical understandings of how music is created while helping students make creative better decisions while furthering their analytical skills.

I am a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG)
