Mrs Louise Dickinson

Louise began playing the violin when she was five years old, reaching Grade 8 by the age of fifteen. Alongside this she learnt the piano, and also studied singing, achieving Grade 7 Musical Theatre.

At Lancaster University Louise studied violin with Louise Latham and voice with Jude Glendinning. During her time in Lancaster she played with a variety of orchestras, both within the University and in the local area, including professionally. She also performed as a singer, taking the lead role in Holst's Opera 'Savitri' and performing solos in oratorio with local choral societies and in recitals.

Alongside teaching and working until recently as Liverpool Philharmonic's Schools and Ensembles Manager Louise has continued performing over the last decade, on the violin with (among others) Wilmslow and Aylesbury Symphony Orchestras, Cheshire Sinfonia, and Liverpool Mozart Orchestra, and as a singer in the Halle Choir, with Oxford Pro Musica Singers, at Oxford Oratory, and as a soloist. She also enjoys playing in string quartets at functions.
