Biography

Jeremias Sanz was born in Zaragoza, Spain. He moved to Salamanca to complete his High Degree with Iagoba Fanlo, Arnau Tomas, Aldo Mata and Kennedy Moretti, at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica. Until then he has obtained the maximum qualifications. Later on, he has been improving his cello playing at the Royal Academy of Music of London with Philip Sheppard obtaining first class with distinctions. Nowadays, he is studing at Royal Northem College of Music of Manchester on the Master Dip course with Hannah Roberts.

In 1997 he obtained the first prize as the best performer in the “Ciudad de Irun” competition and, in 2000, the second prize in the “Ciudad de Toledo” competition.

He has been granted By Private Company “Gaceta Regional de Salamanca” and Ministerio de Cultura in order to participate in the PG Dip course at RNCM and others of performing and interpretation, like the courses organized by the Atheneum Enesco Quartet of Paris and the prestigious Music School “Reina Sofia” in Madrid.

In December 2000 he was invited with his sister, violinist, as a duet to take part in the third International Chamber Music Festival in Marseille, France, where he got generous critics as a performer and composer.

He participated in Master classes of Janos Starker, Bernard Greenhouse, Philip Muller, David Strange, Frans Helmerson and Dorel Fondoreanu and Maria de Macedo.

He has a wide orchestral experience working with conductors like Bernard Haitink, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Lutz Koehler or David Strange, in different ensembles like the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), Southbank Sinfonie of London, Orquesta Sinfonica de la Comunidad de Madrid, Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon.
