School Music lessons:
I follow the National Curriculum music objectives and also offer bespoke lessons based on needs of schools
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I am classically trained and have performed with various ensembles and orchestras, as well as conduct community music projects in USA, UK and France.

I enjoy working with large groups and one-to-one. During lessons I enjoy sharing my love of folk and world music, freestyle improvisation, composition and music technology.

Currently I am a music specialist in primary schools in the West Midlands and I also facilitate sessions for arts organisations in Birmingham. I teach private tuition in the Birmingham area.

If you have any questions about private tuition or working in schools, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that the creativity found in the music is essential for the complete development of an individual. Creativity has many long-term benefits: It strengthens problem solving and critical thinking, builds individual and group confidence; plays a role in cognitive and emotional development, and raises awareness of things seen and not heard and vice versa.

As a teacher, I like to focus on formal technique and artistic expression. Mastering core studies gives the student the wings to explore the limitless possibilities of personal expression. The lesson techniques I use are aimed to develop a holistic understanding of music aurally, visually, and physically. This includes ear training, sight-reading, improvisation and using touch and visualisation to navigate the instrument.

Every student is different in the way that they learn and the interests that they have. Therefore we will work together to create an individual curriculum designed to help you meet your goals. Those goals might be general or specific, big or small. We will discuss your goal at our first lesson and then come up with a general plan to help you reach them.
