Hi, my name is Heidi and I have been teaching for about 6 years now. I only take a small number of private pupils, as I also teach at a local Music School and I also write and perform music as a soloist and with my band. I don't teach classical and as a rule, I don't go in for exams in a big way - I'm not that kind of teacher However, arrangements can be made for pupils wishing to take exams from the Trinity College of Music, Rock School Syllabus, if required. I have tutored students for these exams and entered them through Tafel Musik, where I also teach, with great results. I teach how to sing rock and pop music and a little bit of Musical Theatre. I tend to have more of a holistic approach as I teach pupils how to present themselves on stage and how to perform to an audience. I also teach microphone technique (if required), as this is an absolute 'must' in this day and age. If you don't know how to sing down a microphone correctly, this could make or break your career! Not many other teachers who teach from home on a one-to-one basis are able to provide this kind of tuition. This is because they don't have the facilities, but I have - The Purple Room -! This is my home recording studio where, if you feel you're ready, you can record your very own studio demo! This can be something you could work towards, or if you don't want lessons and just need a demo, why not just go for it! I teach anyone from the age of about 12 years and upwards and anyone can come and record a demo. I charge £20 per hour for studio time and £20 for a one hour singing lesson. I usually teach one-to-one, but if you have something you need to work on with one or two other people (harmonies etc), for example, a college project, I can help with this, but it will be £20 per person, per hour. Due to the nature of my teaching techniques and the fact that I don't drive, I DO NOT visit pupils houses to teach. If you prefer not to come to my home for a lesson, you can contact Tafel Musik in Oxton, Birkenhead and book in for a lesson with me there, but please be aware, they charge considerably more than I do from home, so be prepared to pay extra. Anyone wishing to use the studio should note that it is only small and not suitable for live bands with drummers, but can accommodate smaller set-ups, songwriters and solo artists. I am a qualified sound engineer and I have a wealth of performing and studio experience, spanning nearly 30 years and I'm a great believer that experience counts for a lot more than pieces of paper!

I am a member of the Musicians Union.
