I teach singing, music theory, and piano. My number one aim is to create a rigorous, yet supportive learning environment for my students.

I am confident and comfortable in preparing students for graded exams and competitions, should they wish to pursue them.

I have a Bachelor of Music in singing, with scholastic distinction, from the Juilliard School. After graduating from Juilliard, I came to the UK to study at the Royal Academy of Music on the MA singing programme, for which I received a Distinction and a DipRAM. I moved up to Scotland to study at the Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

I have considerable experience teaching and working with a variety of learners of all ages. As a Morse Fellow at the Juilliard School, I taught music to primary grades in a Manhattan state school. I was also a teaching assistant for undergraduate Music Theory as well as Italian Vocal Literature, and have extensive experience in tutoring.

I work regularly with Scottish Opera, as well as the close harmony group The All Sorts. Although I am a classically trained singer, I can perform and teach a variety of styles of music.

As a working opera singer I can provide insight and advice for students wishing to follow a performing career. Having studied and performed internationally, I can help prepare serious students by imparting a global perspective of what it means to be a performer. I have first-hand experience of what the industry is like in both the UK and the USA. Having studied at some of the best institutions in the world, I know what is expected of students applying for a top music conservatoire. Because of my varied skill set and experience I cater well to different learning styles.

Regardless of whether my pupils are pre-professional, or are just looking to have fun, I strongly believe that studying singing and studying music builds important and transferrable skills which will benefit them in their lifelong journey of learning. Text analysis, foreign language skills, interpersonal interaction, self awareness, and self expression are only some of the ways in which studying music promotes independent critical thinking. I feel that studying music isnít just about learning an instrument. The actual instrument you choose is only one small piece of being a musician. Studying music is about developing an entire skill set which allows you to realize your potential as a communicator.
