In 2005, Elizabeth completed an MMus at the Royal Academy of Music in London, specialising in piano accompaniment. She studied with Andrew West and Graeme Humphrey, and also had lessons in jazz piano from John Serry. Previous teachers include Ian Jones and Richard Holloway. She was awarded the Frederic Jackson Memorial Prize on entry to the Academy, and became the Meaker Fellow for the year 2005/6 on completing her Masters.

In 2003 Elizabeth graduated from Durham University with a first class honours degree in Music. In 2001, she was awarded her LRSM (Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music), and in the same year won the title of Montreal International Music Camp Young Artist of the Year whilst in Canada for a summer school.

Elizabeth’s solo and chamber performances include the Schumann and Shostakovich piano concerti, Schumann’s Carnaval, and her final recital (for which she gained a distinction) at the Royal Academy consisted of a programme of American music, including the Saxophone Sonata by Paul Creston and works by Aaron Copland and Elliott Carter. She has also recorded music for the Channel 4 series “Arrows of Desire”.

In 2006 Elizabeth performed all of Beethoven symphonies arranged for piano duet, with Royal Academy colleague Christopher White. She works regularly with instrumentalists as diverse as viola players and saxophonists, and is also a skilled repetiteur and rehearsal pianist for opera and musical theatre.

Elizabeth spent the summer of 2009 in Zimbabwe, where she performed in a variety of concerts, gave workshops in schools and conducted the string orchestra at National Music Camp. She returned to Bulawayo for the Music Festival in May 2010, where she performed with soloists including Leon Bosch and Leslie Howard.
