Michael is a qualified and experienced violin and viola teacher who enjoys teaching beginners and advanced pupils of all ages. He uses the Rolland method for sound technical development and excellent musicianship.
As a member of ESTA he had the privilege to work with Paul Rolland attending his last summer schools in London with Shelia Nelson, Joan Dixon and Nanny Jameson. Michael has incorporated Rolland's Teaching Action in String Playing into his own personal teaching style for sound technical development and remedial problem solving work.
Michael played professionally for 30 years and remains passionate about music making. He now leads the violas for I Maestri and the Solway Sinfonia.
