I received training from 3 Professors of Music (Piano, Violin and Theory of Music) at the London Royal Academy of Music where I obtained my Licenciate at the age of 19. Since then, I have enjoyed 25 years of private music teaching experience in East Yorkshire, Stirlingshire and East Lothian.

I have a passion for assisting pupils to reach their full musical potential. Working primarily with children, it has been my pleasure to help pupils embark on their musical journey, taking some of them to places at specialist music schools and colleges.

Working towards examinations (where the vast majority of my pupils achieve Distinction or Merit passes) is something I actively encourage as part of musical development. I also promote public performance for pupils who are willing e.g. I host an Annual Pupils' Concert at Haddington Town House and this provides an opportunity for my pupils to showcase their skills to their families and friends.

I also have experience of teaching adults, including returners to music.

For the past 8 years, I have been Leader of a London-based Chamber Orchestra which puts on three performances per year.
