I graduated from The University of Sheffield in 2013 with a Bachelor degree in Music, where I studied piano as my main instrument. With varied interests and experience in the arts, my main aim is to inspire and encourage people to learn the piano, whether as a new venture or to rekindle an old interest. I have been teaching the piano on a regular basis since September 2015, though have had pupils and accompaniment experience at various times alongside my studies. I am pleased to offer lessons to people of all ages, whether children (6+), teenagers, students or adults. I currently have students ranging from 6 to 82 years old!

While I tend to follow the ABRSM syllabus in order to suit mile-stone learning, I am keen to encourage students to play music that they enjoy, so will tailor my lessons to suit each student in order to give them the best opportunity to gain an enthusiasm for the instrument and for music in general.

- I teach theory alongside practical piano technique as this is key to understanding music and being able to read it more easily, but can provide tuition on theory alone for those wishing to top up their knowledge and understanding, or prepare for their grade 5 exam.
- I will be mainly following the ABRSM graded syllabus for those wishing to follow the traditional method, but willing to teach LCM or other alternatives in order to give the student the best opportunity to achieve and progress.
- For those who would like a less classical method, I can teach chords, popular theory and help pass on tools so that you can play pieces from simple chord sheets.

Payment will be due at the beginning of each half term, charged at £16.50 per lesson from my home in Bitterne.

Also available to accompany recitals and exams in Southampton and the surrounding areas. I spent two years accompanying The Escafeld Chorale in Sheffield, played for a number of music student recitals, studied a Piano Accompaniment module at university, and have played for musicals such as Kiss me Kate, Seussical the Musical and Guys and Dolls for amateur companies. I am a good sight-reader and happy to play for exams, weddings or functions.

"I've been learning with Evee for a month and a half now, and I have nothing but good things to say. She has nurtured my enthusiasm by teaching me in a way that suits both my skill level and my interests. When I was younger, piano lessons were a chore; now they're something to look forward to."

"Evee has been teaching me piano for a year now and I've thoroughly enjoyed every lesson. Ive wanted to learn piano for a while as a new hobby and knew Evee was the teacher to choose as she has a lot of knowledge and skill. As an adult I find things take longer to sink in but Evee is very patient and encouraging, building up my confidence. We are working through both theory and practical; Evee gives good recommendations for books to work through and I feel that I am progressing well over the weeks. Most importantly Evee is very friendly and I look forward to each lesson."
