Eleanor Young, BA (Hons.) Music, teaches tailored music theory, and singing lessons. These lessons can be held in the student's home and lessons of either half hour or hour length are available.

I teach students of all ages and abilities. Each lesson is planned to match the student's learning style, age and ability, as well as the student's personal aims. The student may want to prepare for singing performance, to learn sight reading, learn to read music, or even to take singing or theory exams..... or lessons might be just to learn singing or theory for fun. Music is for everyone, and everyone has different tastes and needs when it comes to learning music, this is why all lessons are completely tailored to the student.

Singing lessons:
All lessons are individually created towards the student's aims. The student can learn Jazz, classical, musical theatre or popular music pieces; the choice of music being entirely dependant on the student. Singing techniques, including breath control, anchoring and posture will also be focused in a way which is fun and interesting to the student. Teaching will be individually tailored to the age, learning style and skill of the student. For younger children I can include games to make learning fun and active. I am able to help students through the ABRSM grade system, to help prepare for auditions and singing exams or just generally improve their abilities and enjoyment of singing. On top of this I teach sight singing as part of singing lessons.

Half hour (30 minutes) lesson- £25
Hour lesson (60 minutes) lesson- £40

Music theory lessons:
What the lessons contain depends entirely on the student's aims. Possible aims of music theory lessons include:

Learning to read music scores
Study in order to take Graded theory exam, or receive additional tutoring for a theory exam
Additional help towards written or aural music GCSE exams
Additional help towards written or aural A level Music exams

Some students may need these lessons for exams, others just because they have always wished to read and understand music. This is why the lessons are planned to the students personal wishes.

Half hour (30 minutes) lesson- £25
Hour lesson (60 minutes) lesson- £45

Sight reading lessons are also available, these cover the skills needed to sight read, they can be a great help for students studying other instruments who need sight reading for exams, but do not have the time in their instrument lessons to spend on sight reading, or who need further study on this skill.

The lessons are primarily taught in the student's home. Before starting lessons an initial meeting is arranged to discuss the student's aims for their lessons. If the student wishes to be taught elsewhere this can be arranged
