About me:

Located in the centre of Cambridge (CB3), I am a vibrant, classically-trained piano teacher and accompanist. I graduated with a Master of Music from Boston University in 2014, fully-funded by the Boston University CFA Scholarship. I have extensive experience in piano performance, having studied piano since the age of 8, won multiple prizes, and performed in several major cities in the US, France, Japan and Taiwan. As a pianist, I have worked with internationally-renown violinist Lynn Chang, as well as working as an accompanist at the Boston Conservatory, Boston University and New School of Music. Previously, I was a piano teacher at the New School of Music (Cambridge, MA) and Seed Music Centre (Boston, MA) in the US. I am an excellent communicator, patient, and strongly motivated to nurture each student's ability and enjoyment of music.

Experience in teaching:

Over the past five years, I have taught over 90 students, from children aged 5, to adults aged 40. I have taught at music schools and as a private piano teacher, working on an individual basis and also in a group setting. I have experience teaching students according to the ABRSM syllabus, with all students passing with Merit or Distinction. At the music schools, I have organised several end-of-term concerts for the students to perform in a friendly, encouraging environment.

I am passionate about inspiring my students to enjoy piano performance and to gain the confidence to fulfil their potential and achieve their musical goals, whether it be to do well in exams or to improve as a casual learner. I teach not only piano techniques, but also theory and history so that my students gain the skills and knowledge to analyse the music and understand its meaning.

“Words are not enough to express the gratitude we feel for your kindness and wonderful teaching style ... She has gained so much this year including the joy for playing piano ... You are a gifted teacher and your students are quite lucky to benefit from your instructions.”

“It’s so wonderful to have such caring, supportive teachers like yourself”

“I just wanted to say thank you. You really made a difference to her life in terms of piano.”
