Biography

Lorraine Wild is a qualified and inspirational piano teacher and pianist, based in Godalming.

Main Qualifications: BA Music&Musicology (Paris IV- Sorbonne) • MMus (University of Leeds) • PGCert (Guildhall School of Music and Drama).

Lorraine developed a passion for the piano at a young age and started her studies at the Conservatoire of Besançon (France). Later on, in 2008, Lorraine achieved a first class honours diploma in piano performance at the Conservatoire of Dijon (Burgundy, France), studying with the pianist Thierry Rosbach. In addition, she studied composition, musical analysis and chamber music.

After graduating from the University of Paris-IV Sorbonne, in ‘Music and Musicology’, Lorraine continued her studies at the University of Leeds. Achieving Merits in her Masters Degree in Piano Performance under the guidance of Ian Buckle; she won twice the University of Leeds Piano Competition in 2013 and 2014.

Above all, Lorraine is passionate about pedagogy! In 2018, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Performing Arts at the Guildhall School in London graduating with distinctions.


She was the main accompanist and piano teacher at Westonbirt schools (Gloucestershire) for 4 years. Later on, in May 2017, she was also appointed repetitieur to Cirencester Male Voice Choir.

Lorraine is currently Acting Head of Music at Cranleigh Prep School (Surrey).
