Completed Educare child protection training course. (more)
Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

I teach music at London music colleges, from Guildhall Arts Centre in Grantham & from my studio in Ancaster. I also offer Skype lessons.

I specialise in teaching intermediate - advanced students /aspiring professional musicians and performers. However I also accept beginners of all ages too! I offer workshops and masterclasses and intensive courses. Prices available on application.

You can listen to recordings of my students & also some of my performances on my website

I have previously worked at top performing grammar schools, public schools & for county music services in the Midlands & South East England.

Pupils pay for a series of lessons in advance by bank transfer or via monthly standing order after a trial pay as you go period.

I teach advanced ( post grade 8) piano students on a modern professional full size Yamaha grand piano; other piano students benefit from learning on a top of the range upright Celviano or one of two studio Yamaha pianos. All three instruments are suitable for pupils up to grade 8 standard but have different key touches. Instrumentalists are expected to buy their own instruments but I do offer advice.

I am fully CRB checked and operate an open lesson policy where you may accompany and watch your children in the learning environment.

I work mainly as a freelance orchestral musician & soloist so I am often out & about playing or rehearsing. Texting is therefore the best way to reach me quickly or you can email me at [email protected] Please do not to leave me a voicemail on my mobile as I may be unable to access your message.

Please note that unfortunately I do have to charge for initial consultations and trial lessons.
