Notes:

I am an experienced, enthusiastic and committed flute teacher, and I have taught students of many different ages and abilities. I have over ten years' experience working in London schools, and have worked for Blackheath Conservatoire, Lewisham Music Service, and as a deputy flute teacher in the Junior Department of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

I love teaching and working with different people. Through fun and engaging lessons, I tailor my work to meet each individual students' needs. I adopt a thorough approach to teaching all aspects of technique, and highlight the importance of working on posture, breath control and technique right from the beginning! My lessons are designed to help the student develop creativity, musicality, improvisation, music theory and memorisation of music.

I also love leading workshops and giving classes, which I feel has informed my individual teaching practice. I have taught on projects called 'Around the World in 80 Fifes' and 'Fifes and Fairytales' for the Concordia Foundation in East London schools,. These projects included teaching fife, singing, and leading craft activities, and culminated in schools performances at Wilton's Music Hall and Toynbee Hall, Shoreditch. I set up a weekly fife club in primary schools in London, which included teaching beginner fife, running musical games and activities and leading music assemblies. I have taught on the Junior course for Flute School London(2017), given masterclasses at the Purcell School, at the Royal Festival Hall for the Mayor's Scholar's Fund, and given classes at Trinity Laban on non-Western flutes. As an artist fr Making Music Concert Promoter's Group I have given school and community workshops, and school assemblies demonstrating a range of world flutes.
