Chris Heron is a Professional Freelance Musician based in Leeds with a wide experience in the industry. Originally from Northern Ireland, he was brought up by his professional musician parents and given formal training on the violin. At college, he was interested in popular music and went on further to compose as a singer-songwriter, learn guitar, improvise on the violin which then put Chris in a very good musical position. He had a very good technique and reading skills which then was transferable into popular music which he pursued at the University of Hull. It was there that he directed his own string chamber orchestra, wrote an original album and not only came out with a First: Class Honours degree but came out as a very versatile and experienced musician.
He’s now based in Leeds with various work within performance, composition, arranging, teaching, directing and collaborations. His everyday life involves spending time with his friends and family, weight training, dog walking, practicing, reading and working.
Chris is a very motivated individual with a huge passion to create and perform music, work with other musicians and to teach what he knows.
Private tuition is one of Chris’ favorite ways to share music through building relationships and creating a buzz whenever playing something that excites and surprises us when reaching our potential. Chris is a massive believer in practicing how to teach and then putting it into action. One who solely teaches needs to keep learning how to improve rather than staying at the same level.
Chris has been employed by both Music services Artforms & YMES since 2016 which involves small and large group tuition within Primary & Secondary schools.
Private tuition started since 2011 with experience in taking students through graded exams 1-8 (ABRSM, TRINITY) ranging from Children to seniors and teaching within different styles of music.
