Based at Leeds Minster (LS2), where I am the Director of Music and Organist, I am an experienced professional musician and teacher and am happy to work with students of intermediate and advanced level.
[I have limited availability for regular students in the second half of each week, including at weekends; I also have the ability to schedule post-grade 8 / diploma students on an ad hoc basis and to accompany for recitals or higher grade/diploma examinations by arrangement]
I graduated in 2007 from Cambridge University and have had a varied career as a performer and teacher since, including positions as Organist and Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral and as Head of Choral Music at Solihull School. From February 2020, I serve as the Director of Music at Leeds Minster while remaining on the instrumental teaching staff at Solihull School (piano and organ). I am enhanced-DBS disclosed.
I have taught many student pianists and organists over the years, both children and adults, with a high proportion of ABRSM merits and distinctions, as well as success in helping individuals with organ and choral scholarship applications to Oxbridge and in preparation for the RCO diplomas. I am also a highly experienced accompanist, both in recital and for all grades and diplomas.
I am fortunate to be able to teach from Leeds Minster, working from the choir vestry where there is an excellent upright piano, or in the church itself with its fabulous four-manual Harrison organ.
