Experienced teacher of keyboards & other instruments & player, teaching all standards from complete beginners to Diploma level, and in classical, jazz and popular styles, mainly in towns listed and outlying areas but also across UK. Preparation and assistance are also available for practical and theory examinations of the principal music examining boards as well as for festivals and competitions, or for simply playing for pleasure. Different paces of learning and teaching adopted to suit individual learners. Learners of all ages (accompanied by / in the presence of a responsible adult if under 18 years of age) welcome. Home visits are usually possible within reason.

All fees include reasonable travel expenses to and from sessions within approximately a 15 mile radius; additional travel expenses will be charged if applicable, and agreed in advance.

Also substantial experience as soloist and accompanist across UK and abroad - on organ, piano and keyboards - playing for individuals and choral societies, as well as for instrumentalists, and in various styles and genres (classical, jazz, traditional folk & popular). Classical work centres mainly around places of worship - cathedrals & numerous churches including formerly Dunblane (C of S) and Newcastle (St. Nicholas' Anglican / C of E) Cathedrals & Newcastle University. Accompanist, Callington Singers/Little Choir (Cornwall), Goring Chamber Choir (Oxfordshire), St. Bede's Choral Group, Voices Together (Tyne & Wear), The Military Wives Choirs (various), Highbridge Festival of the Arts, Weston Junior Arts Festival (Somerset) (UK), Jeløy Kirkes Ungdomskor og Vokalensemble (Østfold) (Norway). Jazz work centres on jazz piano especially with singers and other instrumentalists, improvisation and session work, traditional folk centres on barn dances / ceilidhs with other instrumentalists, occasional concerts and special events and session work.
