Notes:

I am a fully professional and highly qualified electric and acoustic guitar teacher with many years experience. I have played and taught guitar all my working life and am currently researching for a Ph.D. in the field of performance.

All ages and abilities are very welcome. I teach from total beginner to diploma and professional standard. I have taught at various musical workshops, including for the Prince's Trust (alongside Phil Collins) and I am able to cater for many special needs. Please ask for further details.

Learn for fun or take LCM graded examinations. I have helped hundreds of students successfully through examinations but also have long-term students who play solely for fun and relaxation.

I am classically trained; have played for professional rock bands; and teach LCM grades (which lend toward jazz). All styles are therefore catered for.

In line with my Ph.D. research, I also specialise in 'guitar therapy' and simply playing for relaxation. Please ask for details.

I founded the 'Instructional Music Department' offering guitar tuition all over the world. This won a 'Livewire' award for 'outstanding excellence' and I now offer distance-learning options via Skype and postal methods. (Please ask about a flexible teaching package that may include distance-learning with occasional face-to-face tuition).

Most recently, and by popular demand, I have started teaching the ukulele! My experience as a guitar teacher means that I am well placed to guide students of all ages on the complete musical journey from ukulele to guitar (or vice versa)! I have taught ukulele to classes in primary schools and continue to teach guitar and ukulele at an Arts Academy.

I offer a friendly, professional, and very adaptable, service with all ages very welcome. Siblings or parents/guardians can learn at the same time with no extra charge.

As a peripatetic school teacher and UCS music lecturer, I have an enhanced DBS check certificate.

As a former module leader for University Campus Suffolk courses such as 'Performance, Preparation and Process' I also offer guided composition and recording sessions that can include the production of Youtube videos etc.

Please do contact me for further details or for advice on guitar purchase etc.

Gift vouchers are available for general tuition and for composition and recording.

Please do ask for any further details. A quick web search of my name will provide further information and references.

First lessons are always the most difficult to arrange but, after that, I promise that regular tuition becomes plain sailing. Playing the guitar really is good for you (and I am well-placed to prove it)! Come and meet me; you will find that I never bite and hopefully you will also find a hobby for life, or even a profession, that you will never regret :)
