Taran Duval (also known as Taz Duval) is a violinist currently studying at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts Sixth Form College and spends her time between Liverpool, London and her home town of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. She is recognised for her sweet tone and the passion that comes across in her playing and performing. As well as performing she has a passion for composition and arranging music for strings.
She is currently a member of the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and performs regularly with them, as well as performing with the Junior Trinity Symphony Orchestra in venues such as Queen Elizabeth's Halls and LSO St. Luke's.
She has worked with orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra.
She has performed at festivals including The Rock Orchestra Festival, Kansas USA, Threshold Festival, as part of the BBC Radio Six Music Festival, and The Royal Greenwich String Quartet Festival. As well as this she has performed in many prestigious venues including Cadogan Hall, The Painted Chappell at The Old Royal Navel College and Maida Vale Studios.
