Canadian violinist Margaret Parkin began her studies as a Suzuki student with Richard Lawrence in Sarnia, Ontario. After earning a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance studying with Kenneth Perkins, Margaret completed a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting under the direction of Iwan Edwards. She is a graduate of the British Suzuki Institute and holds an ESA Diploma of Suzuki Teaching. She has undertaken further teacher training for Suzuki Viola and Music Mind Games.

Margaret is the director of the Exeter Suzuki String Group, maintaining a private studio of violin and viola students ages 3-16. She was previously the co-director of the Oxford Suzuki String Group, a member of faculty at the Suzuki String School of Guelph (ON) and director of the Guelph Youth Music Centre String Orchestra Program. She teaches regularly at workshops and summer institutes in both Canada and the UK and has recently been appointed an ESA Instructor of Violin. She currently resides in Exeter.
